Moohki, Myaamia language for “surface emerging from water,” is a floating housing project located just off the coast of Coconut Grove, Miami, FL, attached to the historic Dinner Key Picnic Islands as a response to water rise levels in an incredibly at-risk city. It offers 20 living units nestled amidst serene ocean waters, providing residents with panoramic views and a sense of tranquility. Residents enjoy lush green spaces for relaxation and personal farming lots to cultivate their own produce, each two units in charge of their respective food production. Several sustainable building practices encourage a more eco-friendly lifestyle for its residents. At the heart of the community lies a vibrant mixed-use center space, bustling with activity and opportunities for socialization. Surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, this project fosters a deep connection with nature and promotes a sustainable lifestyle.
